Mission and objectives


Banking Ombudsman is the protector of financial rights of clients of a bank or micro-credit financial institution and credit union.

Banking ombudsman is an independent party which participates in out-of-court settlement in resolution of disputed issues between clients and banks and/or micro-credit financial institutions and credit unions.

Client protection is a key system for maintaining sound economy and the living standard of households.

Client protection is the condition for building financial markets and their high quality development.

The need of protecting the clients of a bank or other financial institution was emphasized by due to the results of the global economic crisis as well as due to aggressive advertising campaign of banks and other financial institution in offering banking products and services.

The Banking ombudsman exercises operations, procedures and proceedings regarding the resolution of disputed issues between the clients and banks and/or financial institutions pursuant to legislation and the good practice.
